Automatic feeders

Hi I'm Looking to purchase an automatic feeder and saw that they range from 20-100 bucks. Just wanna know what brand you guys like and your experience with them?
 
+1 on the Eheim. I've read several threads asking about automatic feeders and this is always the top one. I plan on using it when I restart my tank.
 
I have the Aquarium Super Feeder (ASF-1) connected to my controller and love it. It's the only feeder that I know of that connects to an AC/DC outlet, and has a neat little funnel that allows pellets/flakes to sink into the tank and not go into the overflow. The link is super-feeder.com. If I didn't have a controller, I'd also consider the Eheim auto-feeder, I always hear great things about it too.

Interesting. Can you post pics? Can you also tell me which controller do you use and how often does it feed? TIA

had the Eheim, worked great for about a month then it stopped turning all the way. Changed the batteries a couple times but that was not the problem. Read several reviews on Marine Depot stating the same thing. But for most people this wasn't an issue, maybe a bad batch?
 
I've used many Eheim units on many tanks. They only failure I've experienced was due to a brief aquatic adventure to the sandbed :)

Have your LFS contact their Eheim rep so they can do warranty work on it they are very generous with their products.
 
i have the fishmate auto feeder. got it from foster & smith. i use it a few times a year when i go out of town. so far it has worked perfectly. it has a on off switch to save battery life when not using but i put a new battery in it everytime anyways, and also has a hook up for an air pump if you need it to help keep the food dry i guess but ive never used it. it can hold up to 14 feedings and can hold a fairly large amount of food in each one if needed. i like it because i am in control of how much food i put into each section. and if you wanted can put multiple foods together in each one to mix it up a little. the longest ive been gone from tank is about 5 days and i generally only feed once a day so 14 feedings is plenty for me.

about a week ago i went to my lfs and picked up one of those floaty plastic rings that keeps the food in place when it drops so it sinks after it hits the water instead of floating straight for the overflow. my fish are not trained to eat food from the surface i usually squirt it in with a turkey baster.

i would recommend this feeder since it has worked great for me.

I don't have photos, but I place the Super Feeder on top of my Euro-braced tank, and use a plastic clip to keep the feeding funnel in place. The funnel is great in that the pellets and flakes have time to absorb water in order to sink, rather than floating and going directly into the overflow.

I use the Apex (I'm sure the RK controllers can be used as well), and set to feed 2-3x/day. The portion is adjustable from a dial on the auto feeder unit.
 
I bought a Hydor ekomixo auto feeder. I couldn't figure out how to get the food to sink. I looked at the Eheim and I don't see how that would work differently.
 
There is a new model coming out made by Eden it is a 901 model I believe. To get the food to sink I put my eheim over the sump and placed a small powerhead to keep the water moving so it will get sucked backed into the DT by the return pump.

There is another one uses AC/DC and can be controlled by controller. It is the Rena LG100. I am using it daily and no problem at all.
