I am going to follow along. I have also been interested in auto water changes.
I just posted a liter meter III and RPM add on pump on ebay. Very nice thread. Thanks Dr.T
Sweet -- I'm curious to see this in action. Just so I'm understanding it correctly -- will one channel pull water out while another replaces it? And the other channels are for dosing other things, like CA, Alk, and Mg?
Yes, that is my understanding. They have their water changing module add on that I also ordered. The doser will be shipped this week and the water changing module will be in the US in 2 weeks.
I haven't owned one but I have similar diaphragm pumps and repair them at work sometimes. If the unit is not new it probably need to have a rebuild done on it. The rubber diagram gets worn out and also the pushrods on some are plastic or sit in a plastic retainer that can wear down and cause the stroke to be less than others causing under dosing.. I'd look into rebuilding it if it's not a new unit, the kits are usually pretty cheap.I have a question for those who own a Stenner 100 DMP dual head pump.
I just setup my stenner and wanted to run a test. I took 2 buckets of equal water and marked the height of the water. I took pump A inlet in bucket A and pump B inlet to bucket B I then ran pump A return to bucket B and pump B return to bucket A and then let it run. In 2 hours bucket A was about 1.5 liters more water and bucket B was down 1.5 liters. I'm at a loss of what to do if the 2 pumps aren't pumping identical amounts. Any thoughts? I have the 100dmp5 non adjustable pump.
