Awaiting My 150 Package!

Years ago when I first got in the hobby I always wanted a package from TBS. Finally I have the opportunity! My 150 package will arrive Thursday. I will be sure to post pics.

And the first half as arrived! What an easy pickup. Called southwest they said the cargo was there. I arrived, backed up my truck to the loading dock, and they loaded it for me. Of course I had to answer the obligatory questions about what was in the boxes. I could tell they thought I was abit crazy to have sand and rocks shipped to me... :hmm4:

Now for the water to clear and my back to quit throbbing after carrying in 450 lbs.

Thanks Richard for such an easy purchase and for my own piece of the ocean in my living room. I can't wait for the kids to get home to see.

When you get 2 starfish and an urchin .. not to mention many crabs/snails in your live sand from TBS, it makes you second guess some of what is called live sand for sale out there.

Here are some rock pics:

I havn't done any scaping yet and still have the second half to be delivered.

Thanks for the information. I guess when it's time for me to order sand and rock I just need to call and see what shipping rates are at the time. Your price was cheaper than the guy that just posted a day or so before about getting his.

Very nice job on aquascaping...I like all the caves...and shelves for corals...they sea fan sure is happy....

Is amazing that that rock and critters was in my tanks yesterday morning in Tampa, and in your tank before noon in Nashville...gotta love Southwest!

How is the mole crab doing?

Air freight is about $90....for up to 100 pounds...every pound over 100 is an additional .90 a pound....

Thank you so much Richard! Never would I have thought my new tank to look like it does now in such a short time. Testing the levels all looks great. The tank looks like it has been set up for months! Like you said I guess I have never experienced true live rock before.

As far as the big a** mole crab he is settling in great. ;) He likes to hang out in one of my caves. My kids love him!

Everyday we look in the tank we find something new. It's soo nice to be able to look into a tank and see so much variety and life without even buying the first piece of coral. I was dreading the awkward, ugly adolescent stage of a new tank without coral and half dead "live" rock. I don't have to worry about that now.

Thanks Richard, when my equipment is all here and I am ready for rock I will call to see if I can figure something out. My airport would be Harrisburg International Airport (MDT). It looks like they have FedEx, UPS and US Airways in their cargo listing. I have a 110g aquarium.

I love picking up those boxes, have done it many times, and still feel goofy doing it.
But at the same time, I think our SW Cargo is used to it. We have so many LFS in the area that it's not uncommon for me to see employees picking up orders, too.

Your rock looks great!
I think all those sponges and tunicates look like an alien sneezed thick, colorful snot all over the coral.

A lot of us at SWA Cargo are used to seeing all sorts of fish, live rock, coral, etc....being shipped everyday. I attached a picture of just one our daily shipments in Tampa. Enjoy!
