I may come across as pretty dumb here, but it wouldn't be the first time.
I'm not having fun in MH land. OK, so I get new bulbs for the 120, and we all know that story already, although they do seem to be whitening up some. I'm still looking for potential replacements though.
Soooo...tonight I go to install the new DE bulbs in the Sunpaq fixture over the 50 in our bedroom. I'm not sure what's in there (I bought the fixture used from a fellow C-Sea member over the summer), but they appear to be 14K in coloration. I bought new Ushio 12k's.
I get the glass covers off the lights, and go to swap out the bulbs. I open the new Ushios. "Hmmm" I think to myself. "these don't look like the ones I have"........and they're not. Although they're both supposed to be 250's, the Ushio's are MUCH larger than the existing ones, and the contact ends are nothing like the the originals either.
I thought a DE bulb was a DE bulb. There's different configurations?
The smaller bulb is what was in the fixture. The larger bulb is one of the new Ushios.
