I am going to buy the MAXCAP RO/DI but would like to use the adjustable resrictor flow control over the others types. I would like to know where I can get one of these and what do they look like? Are they a (eg. ball valve) or a needle valve type. Thanks. Also where at what location do they put this resrictor valve at on the waste line? Thanks again.

Spectrapure can set you up with one. I have both a capillary tube and a needle valve factory installed on my MaxCap UHE system for precise control.

I got one from Buckeye. Is there is quick and dirty way of setting one up? I just tried to get my waste water/output at 4/1. How often do you check it?

I check waste ratios about every 3 months or when the seasons or water temperatures change.
It can sometimes be hard to adjust flows with just a needle valve, it helps to have a capillary tube upstream set at 4:1 in the summer then it just takes a little tweaking with the needle valve to fine tune it for colder waters. Make sure you lock the adjusting knob down with the locking ring too so it does not get bumped and readjusted accidentally.

I use a measuring cup and stopwatch or wristwatch to time the flows for a couple of minutes. Just keep adjusting little by little until its set.

No, I have not trimmed the tube, it came from BFS supposedly already set for 75 GPD.

I took it out and measured the tube. It's only 7/8" long. SpectraPure says it need to be 4" for 75 GPD but also it needs to be yellow.

I'll post in BFS forums and see what the 75 GPD restrictor is supposed to be.

Thanks for the info.

Dave

I have a blue one that does not have a 4" tube off it... It is supposed to be a 75 gpd restrictor. I got it from a ebay vendor. I have not used it though since I bought the adjustable one too...
