B-day present to me Reefkeeper or Aquacontroller?

i have an aquatronica.. i like it a lot.. that said the neptune controller is nice also

I own the RK2 and I find that its an exceptional product! :)

Get the RK2 with PH probe and expansion socket!
Probably all you'll ever need for controlling the tank!
HTH

Happy B-day!

I would get the AC jr. I watched a thread in the Equipment forum that was comparing the 2 and it seemed like AC jr was more adaptable than the RK2.

get some timers........all the extra money spend on corals LOL
I have been reading up on both for months now and IMO there are way too many issues with both having to do with fuses / temp probe issues / and power outage issues.
Just remember if it shuts down your hole tank goes down.
Read their post here on RC. And I really want one but way to scared something would happen while I am at work. So I went the old fasion way lol.

squibley,

Your decision depends what you want to do with it. How big is your system? What do you want to control? How many lights do you have? etc..etc...

I would say an Aquacontroller (or some brand of controller) is very important for a large system. I had 4 halides, T-5's and moonlights. That's 6 timers right there. Plus a kalk reactor, ozone, Calcium reactor monitoring, lights over the prop tank, heaters...etc..Heck, I even used to control my outdoor Christmas lights with my AquaController. It was the best money I had spent on my system.

There are horror stories about every piece of equipment in this hobby so don't let those weigh too heavily on your decision. Nothing is bullet proof but good advice can guide you to how to set one up to be pretty darn close to bullet proof.

Well in all my reading I was leaning towards the Aquacontroller.
Only thing RK had imo was the looks otherwise seems like the aquacontroller had way more options and were able to do more with it right out of the box.
Thanks squibley2 now I am back on this kick again LOL
