B&W Ocellaris Clowns

So I was cruising PETCO for some tank cleaning items when I ventured too close to the saltwater fish area and to my surprise I see 3 B&W Occ Clowns swimming about in their tiny little glass cage.. This surprised me, I had no idea they carried such fish.

Long story short I came back the next day and purchased 2 of them and put them in my QT... Take a look!

Woke up early this morning to check on the new kids in the tank.... They were still sleeping.. but looking good..

With any luck they will start eating NLS today!

They don't really seem interested in NLS pellets, but it's way to early to tell, I was able to get them to eat a small amount of finely chopped Mysis shrimp soaked in selcon... The Petco guy said they feed them tropical flakes and brine shrimp... seems odd to feed them tropical flakes..??

Either way it's a good day two start, they seem very active and happy...

Thanks guys, they have some different striping than normal the one over the tail is really short and does not go all the way around, not sure I have seen that before...

Well they were normally $39.99 I believe but they had them on sale for $24.99, I think I got a really good deal...

Cute clowns! Mine go nuts for flake food (a good marine one,) so it might be worth a try for yours.

Thank you, I will look for a flake food also, that will give me 3 good foods to feed them.

On a side note my wife came home with a fake anemone for them in the QT ... I will of course remove it if I have to medicate these guys!

I'm spoiled, I have a local breeder so I got to pick my pair out of hundreds and I only had to pay $30 for the pair. :beer: He also has platinums, so I already know what I'm getting myself for Xmas this year.

Nice..... I only picked these up because I saw them at PETCO, it was my intention to get them at my LFS...

I wouldnt add B&W's with Perculas. When they mature the B&W's will be way more aggressive, and will most likely beat up/kill your Percs.

So here are some more fuzzy pics from day three, they ate well this morning on chopped up Mysis Shrimp soaked in Selcon over night. Oh and yes they have fallen in love with a Koralia pump...

Well good news for me, they have started to eat the NLS pellets at their noon feeding...

I really need to rinse the Mysis shrimp though, that stuff clouds the tank and I am feeding very little... :-(

Day 4, still eating ok they love Mysis and will eat the NLS Pellets it they are soft enough.

I have an Aquaclear 20 on the 20L tank and a Koralia Nano 425 for flow pointed up to create good oxygen, but it seems like too much flow, should I just use the AQ20?? will it be enough oxygen?

So I'm still working the NLS pellets, I find that I have to soak them in water a bit or Selcon and mash them up into a blob... then feed it slowly into the tank making sure not to get any big pieces falling or they miss it or spit it out because it's to big.

I'm guessing it's because they are so small, does anyone know of a smaller pellet food?
