Babby Red Haddoni

After the fiasco I had with the Large Red Haddoni a few months back I decided to pick up this little guy and try my hand at it again.
It is only about 4" in diameter but after 4 days it has settled in just fine and is doing great.

I also got a nice Purple with yellow tips Magnifica about 3 weeks ago. So far it is doing good and is already being hosted by my percs.

Looking nice. Your anemone is too close to the montis though, they may get stung.

The montis have been moved since the vid was done as they were getting stung.

I am running three Tunze Waveboxes on this tank. Yes, I have a serious Tunze addiction.:lol:

Thats an awesome male picasso perc!! Did you get it from ORA or WC?

He was one of a pair of ORA Picasso's that I got back in Dec. 06. The other one had much nicer body striping but didn't have the white spot on the face which is one of my favorite characteristics of the original ORA WC Picasso male.
I lost the other Picasso in April for some unknown reason and the WC female in the pic paired up with the remaining Picasso. The weird thing is, once they paired up the black started to fill in faster on the male. The female's marking on the other side of her body is very "Picasso" like but for some reason she rarely shows that side when she is in the anemone. You can see it briefly in the video.

I know the smaller red's are even more difficult than a larger one. Good luck and hope it works out for you. It looks healthy from the pic.

Its still doing great.
I have asked about the the hardiness of red carpets in the past and no one was able to give me any hard evidence that the reds were any less hardy then other Haddoni color variants.

I heard a year or so ago that people were having a hard time keeping red/pink haddoni's for any given time but I asked some of the more experienced anemone keepers and they couldn't confirm it.

I'm not sure it does. I think the problem is people don't often have a "selection" of red haddoni carpets. They tend to forgive signs that might keep them from buying a brown or green carpet. The result, the red carpets don't have a good record of survival because buyers don't start with healthy anemones.

If you want a haddoni take a healthy one. Mine didnt have much color when i got it but after a few weeks at the new crib its comming back nicely
