Baby Banggais

Fragmented

I have 12 week old lovingly tank raised baby Banggais. They seem to be getting to the territorial stage. I am attached to them, but it is time for them to move out.

They eat dried Cyclopeeze and my homemade frozen food. (They need small pieces.) I haven't given them live food for quite some time. They are growing kids and love to eat. I still feed them 3-5 times a day, but they can be fine with 3 times. (When they were very young they were fed up to 15 times a day.)

They are now about the size of a quarter plus or minus.

One can be yours for $30 if you have an established tank with a peaceful community.

Hey Fragmented ~ How did you get the fry seperated from the parents? I have a breeding pair seen with a "mouthful" several time's, but I have only sucessfuly saved one baby (survived in display...)

I pay close attention to when the male stops eating. I mark my calendar for fry removal on the evening of day 19 or 20 after lights out. I catch the male and he releases the fry into the 5 gallon bucket i put him into. (Usually while he is still in the net.) I then return him to the main tank when he is finished releasing and put the fry into their own tank. I feed dad at least 3 times the next day.
