Baby Black Ocellaris Photos!

Nope, those are indeed BTA's. I have an LTA in another tank with SI True Percs, and they are very different. No verruculae (sp?) (pimples) underneath the BTAs, and from time to time, the bubble tips do develop on the BTAs. Also, the LTA has "curly-q" tentacles, while the BTA's are mostly straight with the occasional bubble tip. They are all splt from one original that Tiler had. Also, the BTA's are always attached to rockwork, whereas the LTA is constantly burrowed in the sand.

Most of my BTA's dont have the typical bubble tips. I have 4 in the black ocellaris cube, two in with my orange ocellaris and an RBTA in the same tank as the LTA (that RBTA has more bubble tips then the rest combined usually, even though it is less then 1/3 the size).

According to Tiler, these BTA's get large (8"-10") before they split, and the big one in the middle of that pic looks like it should split soon.

I dont know what you guys are on about, the black ocellaris are the easiest thing i have to breed, like rabbits even

I can also say i dont see much difference in the amount of miss barring on juvs of wild caught vs tank raised.

The last collector to get black clowns in the wild got eaten by a croc, and im not sure anyone else is doing it. it is very hard to get wild blacks in australia too.

So ho wmuch rotifers do you need per gallon? My clowns laid eggs and i jsut ordered some rotifers....so hopefully itll be a learning experience too...need to know some info about the food and stuff if you remember from when you bred.

Continous rotifer culture you need maybe a ten gallon tank at about 100 rotifers per ML or if you are going to batch culture them a couple of 1 gallon containers and try to reach 200 rots/ML.

I do not believe I have ever reached those numbers but it is what you should shoot for.

As far as feeding the larvae, I add rots to about 4 gallons of larvae growout water until I can readily see rots about 1 body length away from every larvae.
