Baby carpet anemone question

I got some generic live rock and hidden in the rock was a tiny 1in bright red anemone that looks from what I can tell to be a carpet of some kind. My question is how fast do they grow on average because I'd like to keep him and get him his own tank set up soon. I just want to know roughly how long I have. No pictures right now because he's taking a stroll around the tank atm.

We need to ID this anemone before we can give any information anything. Good picture is all important. Without it we cannot give any information
