Baby Max question

Got a baby (1.5" or so) maxima about a month ago and is doing fine. I had it halfway up the tank on a rock. It has decided to jump to the substrate. I am a bit concerned that, being so small, it might not get enough light on the substrate to sustain itself. Should I move it higher in the tank? or just leave it where it wants to go. (I do not feed phyto)

Thanks

Rich

Totally agree with Mbuna , you must feed phyto on smaller clams . Also when I buy a new clam and acclimatise it I place it on the sand bed over a piece of buried rock or old clam shell and let its bysal threads attach . Once you have done this and the clam seems happy you can gradually move it up to stronger lighting if required . HTH .

does the phyto have to be live ??? I use kent phyto and my baby clam is doing fine so far.

the way I feed my clam is using a small clear container, fill the bottom with some sand/gravel put the clam inside so when I need to feed it, I just take the whole bowl out of the tank and feed it kent phyto
