Baby perculas

I'm in the process of deciding what clown fish to get, regardless I want to eventually have a pair. I would love to get 2 small onyx clowns but they are expensive. Alternatively my LFS has small wild caught perculas that are starting to show black. So to my question, are small (less than 1") wild caught clown a safe bet? Do the smaller clowns have a higher mortality risk than buying more mature clowns?
I would prefer tank raised larger perc's but it's not an option i see locally very often.

This is what I would do..I would ask how long have these fish been in their store. (Less than a week is not good) Then I would ask them to feed the fish. If they eat well then I would buy them. If they don't eat anything then, I would shy away from fish that don't eat at the store. If they have been there more than a week, they eat when they feed them..get the fish. good luck:)

Watch them poop too. Wild caught clowns tend to have internal parasites look for the stringy poop. I doubt they wont have the parasites thought so wait for them to eat and select TWO and fortify their food like lots of garlic extract for the next month and then they should be fine
