I have been out of reefing for a while and thought that after my last tank in Bangkok that i would not keep anemones again as i had the ultimate purple gig and had to give it to a friend when i moved back to the UK.
Anyway last year I set up a new tank with zeo and sps in mind, the zeo was a total waste of time imo and I am back to what really got me into reefing, Clowns and anemones.
I have had this anemone about a week now and it is still touch and go but I feel it is now 60/40 and will document it. It was in a lfs tank for 2 weeks and started to pick up as opposed to fall ill. It has expelled pellets of zooxanthelle every day but also eaten mysis every day.
The plus points are as follows:
It has not moved at all in a week.
It has eaten enriched mysis every day.
it looks firm and has not collapsed at all.
The mouth has mostly been tight.
The negative are as follows:
The foot has funny areas where it is not attached or lifts these are only small and change as if it is lifting part of its foot? the rest is attached firmly.
Two white spots on the column that appear to be getting a little better as if the anemone was stretched or rubbed.
It has slightly bleached areas.
I have left clowns out as yet to see if it takes.
Here are some pics
