Back to the Reef Express, Building my new System

Just left Robbie's!!! AMAZING bro!!! Simply Amazing! I can't believe the growth and color your getting. I promise to bring the camera next time.

Awesome looking tank i can't get over all the great colors. I really need to get one of those red digi's they really stand out. You have me convinced to go with a large group of the anthias when i get my new tank setup they are so colorful and stay out in the open. Since i see there is a list going for a Matrix frag i will slyly add myself to the list :).

Looks great Robie. Lets see, I'll take a piece of that, and a piece of that, and a piece of that :p

It only took me 9 months to find this thread, but it was worth the wait. Wow, what an incredible system, congratulations on your success. Unfortunately many of the early photos were pulled from Photobucket and are no longer viewable, so I didn't see much of the setup of your system. In particular, I'm interested in your lighting. I thought you mentioned in the beginning that you are using 400W MH + VHO + T5's. The early pics of the light rack are not viewable, and in all subsequent photos I only see MH + VHO. Are you using T5's at all anymore?

Leonardo

He uses performance enhancing drugs.........;)

Robie, congrats on the pregnancy!

thanks Leonardo, is just the same setup I 've always use, i really don't dose but use the calcuim realctor and kalk reactor, 3 400w 20k radiums and 4 160w VHO's super actinics, good current & big skimmer the tank is in automatic feeding 2 times per day, once a month i add some iodine and that it's....

Hate to quote myself, but perhaps this post was missed? Sorry for the duplicate, but very interested in the answer. Thanks!

Thanks Sunny for the kudos your tank looks outstanding as usual little more time and will be nicely grown!!!

stunreefer,
thanks Bro its on cruise control now;)

Dudester, sorry bud i thought i had it somewhere here in the thread, but yes as
cmc0814 quote, the light in the 180 are 3 x 400w 20k Radium bulbs and 4 x 160w URI super actinics bulbs and 3 moon lights, im running the MH bulbs for 7 hours a day and the VHO's 12 hours, temp in the tank is 75-78 and just using a Calcuim reactor, Kalk reactor, fluidized carborn reactor (no rowa) Big A$$ skimmer, 15 to 20 gal water changes weekly sometimes biweekly and once a month i add iodine, feeding 2 x per day automatic feeders and every other day i target feed some corals and anemones, thats about it no other supplements in the system at all.

I will take some new photos of the filtration room that has change quiet a bit, one of the prop tanks i had leaked so i had to shut that down and still have the refugium/rose BTA farm and a small shallow rimless (50 x 20 x 14)instead of the prop tank that still needs some work.

thanks

Robie

Thanks Robie. Just asked because I was looking for clarification, in the beginning of the thread you mentioned MH/VHO/T5, and then later just MH/VHO. Thanks again!

No problem, and yes at some pint i had t5's in the main display but now just VHO's OLD SKOOL!!!;) i do have t5's in the rimless ...
