i need to find run time charts or get the equasion numbers to figure out how long a certain wattage powerhead will last on a given volt amperage output of the ups.
VOLTS x AMPS = LOAD
LOAD / POWER SUPPLY WATTAGE = VA USED PER HOUR
The Mag-12 draws 115v x 1.5amps per hour, which equates to a load of 172.5va per hour. With the Opti-UPS being 1500va, this provides me with an estimated 8.69 hours of power. These calculations do not take into account battery decay, so it's a good idea to consider a loss of up to 2 hours, to be absolutely safe. This results in 6.5 hours of solid power.
The reason I run my return pump, is primarily to keep the sump/fuge from overflowing!
