Bad blennys

First I had to banish the little scooter (I think thats what he is), for pulling up a small flower nem and then biting its tentacles every time it opened. Now my bigger blenny (slightly horizontal striped with blue fin spot) just ate my nice orange ric frag I just got. I will banish him as soon as he gets caught. I have never seen such a pig. He will eat as much as can be put in front of him. I have seen him where I thought for sure he would pop. Oh well sumpward bound.

They do seem mischievous. I know Divemonster has (or maybe had) one that she had to banish. Mine was constantly digging in the sand, sometimes it would look like a snowstorm in the tank he stirred up so much crud. Something got him, though, he just disappeared one day and I haven't seen him since.

Good luck with the little varmint. ;)

Yeah, I actually like his antics, but they have a habit of viciously grab/pulling whatever it is they are the least bit curious of eating. In this case, it was a very nice ric frag and deep down inside I was hoping it killed him lol. Probably looked like a nice gummi candy to him.

hahaha! I bet your were, Noah. Bad blennies, indeed! :mad2: I had named mine Stinker because of its mischievous nature. But later changed that to something considerably less flattering...something that is not to be written on a family board such as this.

I caught the greedy thing in the mantis trap I had set out. It had gotten so big I could not keep any other fish in the tank, it would bully them all to death. Richard had sent me a smaller blenny in a C.A.R.E. package and I put it in the tank in place of the big one. Now I know what happened to my ricordia....I was blaming my coral banded shrimp.

My blenny will back into the mantis shrimp's hole while it is in there and flap his tail as fast as he can. I can only imagine what the poor mantis looks like in there!
