Bad clown fish

So my damn clown fish pair (fake) pick on my mandarin, and chase him around the tank. Anyone have ideas how to discipline these aholes (more food)? I like them but like my mandarin much more.

Just an fyi but adding an anemone to a tank with clowns doesn't mean for sure that they will go in said 'nem. I've had two pairs that were completely disinterested in an anemone.

my clowns are pricks. they spend 90% of the time fornicating and being a general nuisance to a rbta. the other 10% of time they knock stuff over and bite things. mine are housed in a 28 g AIO. if they are spawning, it gets worse.

I have 5 pairs and love them all but the bite the heck out of my hand regulary. Don't think you can train a damsel to be non agressive. Arranging a cave or a couple of pvc pieces might give them a place to hang out and stop acitng like a roving gang.

The hand biting i dont mind, its my poor mandarin, i love that little guy. Worst part is anyone that doesnt reef, has as hard time believing that "nemo" is really a spawn of satin.

No, i pmed you to purchase one and never heard back :spin2: (if you still have one fs lmk)

But they are hosted by my Duncan, do you think that will make a difference?

This is also a 29 gal.

lol Ohhh no... sorry not sure what happened there :hmm2:

seemed like forever they were in a holding tank, the water quality started getting bad so I took them to SWP and rehomed them

The only one of my pairs that aren't pricks are my orange skunks. And that is probably just a matter of time. The ocellaris, clarkii, percula, and GSM all ferociously attack me. They've all drawn blood.

If the clowns really stay in the duncan, you could try creating a visual barrier so they can't see much. If they can't see the mandarin, and don't think it's encroaching their territory (which is probably the whole tank), they won't attack.

The hand biting i dont mind:mixed:

You haven't met my 7 year old female tomatao clown. I often wonder if blood dosing is good for the tank.
I don't keep a mandarin now but when I did the clowns didn't bother it.They don't bother the scooter blenny either.

Lol, it seems everyone has bad clown fish, im really thinking of selling or trading them in now. On the other hand i can upgrade to a larger tank too.

Mine are model citizens then! The two black percs are chill and havent bothered any others. They seem to accept the cardinal as a brother (who is placed 3rd in their ranks).

Now the two occ. In my other reef like to nibble my arms when I clean the glass.

My turbo snail does catch hell when he wanders too close to the first clown pair.
