The ATO sensor in the sump that detects water level has gone bad. I tried soaking it in vinegar, but it still does not work. Can I turn the sensor on it's bottom side? I went on JBJ's site and could not find anything about replacement parts. Where can I get a replacement cheap? PLEASE HELP, I hate filling evaporate by hand.:(

Chicago sensor .com is a cheap alternative. 6 or so bucks for a new float valve. Just need to splice the new one in place.

What do you mean splice the new one? Are you talking about re-wiring? I thought it was just enough replacing the float.:(

Thanks for that link, it gave me a very good description of my problem. The float is stuck in the open position, which means it will keep the ATO dumping water into the sump. I am glad it started failing the same day I was back from vacation. What are the chances of that happening?

That sucks, i have one of those units and the problem i'm having is that it never stops draining the water from the resevior tank.

How long have you had it? Mine is 3 years old without problems.

Same happened to me after about 1 year of use. Problem i sthe JBJ replacement float is around $45 not including shipping - I ended up buying a whole new unit and just using the float valve. The good news is, it has worked flawlessless for the past 3 years.

That does not sound right! Check out this link: www.jbjnanocubes.com/contents/en-us/d754_jbj-ato.html:confused:

i had a same problem with my JBJ ATO. Try this, unplug the censor and turned the ATO off. Then Turn it back on and plug the censor back in. It will not fix the problem permanently but, it's ok until you do WC.

What do you mean slice the new one? Do I have to replace the whole float and wiring?

Dunno i dont have the float in front of me. Sounds like you do need a replacement float. Shouldnt be hard to splice the wires and add in a new float.
You can always call JBJ and ask for a replacement float assembly.
Like i said it not in front of me and if its not responding well i would not trust it for top offs. JMO
