A week or so ago, my siren started to go off.. I pulled out the pump and started to soak it in vinegar. The impeller wouldn't come out. This is the older style impeller with the brakes.
I've been putting it in new vinegar every day hoping that it will let the impeller slide out. Its been soaking for about 6 days straight now, impeller is still stuck in.
I pulled off the actually propeller and put the screw back in (it is a replacement stainless steel screw, BTW). With a monkey wrench, I pulled as hard as I could on the magnet/screw straight out. The brake assembly piece broke so now its just the magnet and a little stub of whats left.
I was going to try and carefully drill out the center of the magnet and hopefully be able to dremel out the rest and just buy a replacement impeller assembly. Any other ideas?
