Nice,
How much is the pink egg crate?..
Does the blue paint on the bases cause any toxic reaction?.

Cheers
Mo

Hopefully you get them at a great price since they aren't labeled "ultra exquisite marsupial monster from the sun". :lolspin:

You already have a game plan of how many or are you going in wallets blazin'?

That was something I did mention and he said that picture was taken with his iphone. And they looked 5times better in person:lolspin:

I will wait and see more pictures of them before I make the drive and maybe you can meet me and get your OT.

Whenever your ready. where do you have to drive to?
By the way I just went through your thread on switching out the circular tanks. incredible is all that I can say about your colonies and the system.

Damn Chris. That colony looks pretty solid. Let me know if you end up coming down. I'll head over there with you and maybe score a couple frags!!

just curious, if the basket and the base aren't the color they really are, does this mean the coral in this photo also isn't as bright as it appears here compare to real life as whoever took the photo "enhanced" the color? I know how easy it is to enhance colors on an iPhone.

No fellas, sadly the coral probably has a lot of enhancement lighting (actinic, red led), but it does show the potential of the coral. Keep an open mind as to what it could be.

Course a wild harvest isn't going to have amazing color fresh out the ocean.

Side note, I've seen some sick photos of sps coming from Bali, enhancements aside.

It looks a like a standard Tenuis, that is heavily photoshopped.
Unless it's sitting in a pink box and that is not white egg crate, you are in for an expensive shock.
These Bali cultured corals come into uk all the time.they have hints of blue and green and some have pinky tips. They need a lot of work to colour them up, but they do colour up.

That coral will be brown for months.

FYI iPhones do not make white look pink without intention!. As for a painted blue base?!!.
Just picture if the blue was brown.... What colour would the base be?..... The usual colour of cultured bases??. Then what colour are the polyps?!.

We buy these whole colonies for about $50.

I have to agree with Moser here. Don't let the photo fool you. An Iphone doesn't change the colors so much that white eggcrate looks pink and a cement plug bright blue...
I'm just trying to prevent a disappointment. The coral is nice for sure, but it's a Bali Tenuis. Cream/green base with bright blue tips.

Wow does anyone read what I said:facepalm:I will wait and see more pictures before I make the drive. Plus my mother lives there and I will have here go by first. I am no dummy and not going to pay $500 for a frag of jawdropper or any fancy named PS coral. One thing just about everyone of you have got wrong is that there is no egg crate . It's sitting in a basket:lolspin:

The very first thing I said to my friend when he sent it was ,what's up with the photo . These guys are friends of mine and are just giving me a chance of getting some nice new corals. And I think that's cool of them to give me a heads up.

The image is not photo-shopped. I downloaded the image and examined the curves and the image was not altered. The coral was photographed under intense blue biased lighting which causes the coral's pigments to fluoresce. The phone was set with an incorrect white balance. The white balance needs to be adjusted which will provide a more actual appearance in real life. Should be a nice coral never the less--more yellow green in person..................Jim
