ballast question

I have an Odyssea (2)36 watt dual power compact fixture. My question is that when the bulbs that came with the fixture go out, will it pose a problem if I were to replaced them with (2)36 watt Coralife bulbs? I heard from one person that the bulbs that come with the Odyssea fixture are not really rated at 36 watts each, but less - Does this mean that the ballast won't be able to handle (2)36 watt Coralife bulbs that I know are 36 watts each? As to whether the statement about the stock Odyssea bulbs is true or not, I don't know; I just don't want to start a fire or anything.

If the Odyssey puts out slightly less than 36 watts, using a bulb rated at 36 watts wouldn't be a problem. The ballast drives the bulbs as opposed to the other way around.

yeah if the ballast says 36 watt's on it, then you are good to go, and put 36 watts of bulbage on it.
