Banded Cat Shark Won't Eat

I have a reef tank with a banded cat shark that hatched three days ago and he still wont eat. I herd they are hard to get to eat sometimes. I didn't have this problem with my last one. Does anyone have experience with this problem? Any suggestions? Ive tried day and night feedings. Frozen sliders are to big so I'm trying frozen krill. Ive tried by hand and I've tried feeding off a prong.

Scallops worked great and also small cut up pieces of squid. We would get a clear feed stick and put the piece right in front of them. Also sometimes we would put a drip of garlic on the food. At the aquarium I worked at they would sometimes not eat for the first week or so. We would just continue to offer them the food and they would eventually take it. Good Luck!

I would double check water parameters and try a variety of foods in low light conditions spread out over time. I say spread out the feedings to give the scent of each food to dissipate before moving onto the next try. I always used skewers and often started them off with frozen squid or shrimp and sometimes guppies to get them started but I prefer to stay away from the latter.

Good Luck
Mike
