I am a bit confused the female I have looks like a male and had eggs last night but the smaller one would not accept them so the eggs were just hanging!! Does any one know why! The female initiates the mating dance!!
The only thing I could guess is that the male is too young or not fed well enough. Normally you want a larger male then female. The reason for this is because if the female is to large for the male she will produce more eggs then he can handle.
They do grow fast if fed correctly, it is very important for the male to be well fed because once he accepts the eggs from the female and has them brooding in his mouth he doesn't eat for the 21 or so days until the fry are expelled.
