Bangaii #3

I've had a pair of Bangaii's for about 3 years. In January a friend noticed a baby Bangaii swimming in the LTA. About 4-6 weeks later I found another. And today I found a third deep inside the LTA. Seems they are surviving by living in the anenome but it's weird how I'm only seeing one survivor per spawn.

I've yet to see teh fry in the mouth of the make as he always has his back to the front when carrying. But I'm starting to be able to tell if it's happening. Seems teh cardinals disappear for a few days and when they reappear the male doesn't eat at feeding time. Noticed this about a week ago so have been checking the LTA daily. Two or three days ago the LTA was deflated for two days. Half inflated yesterday and fully inflated today. Maybe the Cardinals released the fry in the anenome and it ate most?

Here's the newest addition:

laurence-
why is only one survivor per batch weird? are you purposefully removing the fry and feeding them microfoods?
I suspect your tank is not capable of supporting more than one fry.
If you want to have more success you'll have to capture the fry and feed them large amounts of enriched microfoods-such as baby brine shrimp
and BTW the fry and adults in the wild use anemones as protection. so your baby is doing "its thing"- pretty cool

Cheers. I have no intention of trying to raise any fry specifically. Thought if one could survive then more could. But I'm just happy stuff survived without any intervention. :)

Didn't know that about Bangaiis and anenome - awesome stuff. :)
