Bangaii behavior

I got 4 cardinals in a 10gal qt and slowly they started dying 1by1

First died the first night I got them

2nd 4 days later and the 3rd this Friday. Now I only have 1 and a black onyx clown??

The tank has been up for months and the clown loves to hang out in it.

Is it possible the cardinals had a little turf war? They were all together at the store?

Not terribly surprising. Bangaii cardinals are not too fond of each other and a ten gallon is just big enough for one. They may not have been together all that long in the store, or the territory may have been rearranged often. They are just not good group cardinals, at all.

they usually need a bigger tank, and a male and female...

Yes, a lot of people think they should be in groups, but thatÃ"šÃ‚´s not true.
They only will get along in groups in a very big tank, and as long as they are juveniles. Then a mated pair (or more) will be form and the pair will nip and chase the others until death.
