Bangaii Lip Fungus

I just bought my first mated pair of Bangaii Cardinals.
They are both doing great.

The female had a small case of lip fungus, on the lower lip. But it healed quickly and its fine now.

But the male seems to have caught it and isn't eating at all :( And It's not holding eggs. The male won't even eat live brine shrimp I am offering it.
The fungus is ok but not very good for the male. Theres a little on the top and bottom lips and I am worried the bangaii will die.

any advice on how to get rid of the lip fungus/help speed up the time its there?

Thanks.

Update on the bangaii.
The fungus has gotten worst, its covering more of the bottom lip and more on the side.

any advice would be helpful. thanks.

Fungus is highly unlikely. It cold be Lymphocystis, a virus. Do a Google search on it. Also search 'cauliflower disease fish.'

One of my butterflies had it and he's fine and well now with no signs of the virus.

Thanks, its lip fungus.
I had another male bangaii in a seperate container because I was going to return it, and the male was thrashing against the container every now and then, thats how it got infected.

It barely been eating, the only thing I saw it eat was ONE live brine shrimp, since then it hasn't. Will I have to seperate it and treat it? or should I wait a little longer and see what happens?

thanks

You could try a product called Pimafex ? Pimafix? It goes along with Melafix - one of them, when spelled properly, sorry I can't recall of the top of my head is supposed to aid in healing fungus. The one I use is Mela and it uses oil from the malleluca tree so im assumign the other would be pretty benign to your water quality as well.

Hope this helps a little, sorry for the poor spelling its not a product i've needed to use very often

URGENT HELP NEEDED!!!!

URGENT HELP NEEDED!!!!

So It's been about..a week or so since I've had my pair. The lip fungus is gone in the female, and has started to go away for the male.
But something much worst developed from the infection. The male has pop eye The bangaii's left eye :( is swollen and I see the right eye flaring up too.

I am doing a ten gallon (out of 46 gallons) water change today, and possibly another tomorrow.
My book also says though that antibacterials should be used also if possible.
Any suggestions?

Thanks
