bar frag swap

I don't think the point of the swap is to acquire frags to trade - thats just buying. Growing stuff out and sharing the wealth is more in line with the swap. IMO.

I have some stuff growing , but am also looking for stuff that I could buy for myself, frag some and keep the rest... that is what I meant.

Like you said... if I really wanted, I'd just buy em' out right instead of going to the fragswap. I actually want to go there just to meet the other folks and see stuff I probly haven't seen yet in person and only in pictures...

would we be able to bring one frag and pay some money. I think I may only have one frag by then.

This is being discussed right now.
Please stand by...........

I'm pretty sure Jim and others will have a pretty nice plan for the swap fairly quickly. Jim always comes up with some interesting (good) ideas for sharing and executes great swaps. Looking forward to it. You guys better watch out for all the AEFW and red bugs, and monti nudis going around.

Yeah, if you get pests from the frag swap you almost deserve to lose your whole tank at this point, unless you've not been around the forum (or any reef forum) there should be no way you don't know anything about the pests that many corals do hold.

I'm sure there will be a nice announcement prior to picking about these things as well, not that everyone will listen ;)

TMPCC + Interceptor (and some follow up with a Fluke Tabs dip). The swap "booty" should be easy enough to "clean" versus a colony or mini-colony that you typically see from the LFS. Just as a note, when/if we end up buying one (which is rare) we frag it off of the base and treat it as frags, since there is much less of a chance of pests/eggs/etc making past the visual inspection phase when you are dealing with a frag.

While were getting off topic, anyone know who carries Tropic Marin products in the Bay Area? I have TMPCC, but I like their salt as well but can't seem to find it.

Interceptor for acros and TMPCC for all other corals

You are setting yourself up for failure with that dip regime. Interceptor does absolutely nothing for AEFWs.

:D .. just didn't want anyone reading your post and following the recommendations to the letter (your original one that is) :)

It's too bad that TMPCC isn't 100% effective against the LRBs.

It's nice to know that New Alameda carries it .. but they are never open the times I have time to stop by. :(

Interceptor for redbugs.

Flatworm Exit or Fluketabs for red planaria.

Freshwater/Lugol's for zoa nudibranchs and zoa spiders.

Freshwater/peroxide for zoa fungus.

Lugol's, Tincture, SeaChem Reefdip, TMPCC, Betadine, Povidone or other iodine based for general purpose.

Some people have tried Levamisol(not Levamisole) for monti nudibranchs.

Some people have used Betadine or Povidone-Iodine for AEFW.

I'm using saltwater Povidone-Iodine for everything including zoa pests, plus Interceptor specifically for redbugs, and Flatworm Exit specifically for planaria. Dip and quarantine.

Here's some more info:

Does anybody know where I can get interceptor? It seems like it's hard to get? I'm sure I"ll get a bunch of links out of you guys about discussions we've already had. I can't search atm, i'll try a bit later.

Also I'll finally have frags to trade!!! (other than yellow polyps, lol). I'm breaking down my 32g and fragging everything up. The frags should be all healed and grown out by the time the meet comes up.

cheers!

I'll be keeping a frag / mother colony of the corals I want to keep, but everything else will be going to the swap.
