Barbouri Mating Question.

Hello, I recently purchased a pair (male/female) of barbouris. I have them in a 40g tank and there is a mix of live rock, tall and short plants for holdfasts and they have plenty of room. I would like to breed them but I want to know if anyone has any suggestions about tank setup/conditions to encourage mating? Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming the pair is sexually mature, they should take care of the rest themselves. If they aren't an experienced pair, it may take a few tries for a successful egg transfer, and a tall tank makes this easier (you didn't say which 40 gal you have). Are they flirting?

Also, barbs tend to be slow growers...they actually do everything slow, IME, so patience is a good thing.

Oh and yes they are flirting , they spend the majority of their time right next to eachother.

Just give them time...if they're flirting, a fat pouch is next.
