I have a 120 Bare Bottom.

Can I add a clam? 2 250w MH lights, VHO Antics.

Any suggestions? I have Starboard for the base instead of bare glass.

I am not sure, I know nothing about calms yet.

Are you saying that I am dumb or telling me that I cannot get a calm? What if I keep em on a Half Shell like I see in the stores?

Please remain calm - I'm trying to help you out.
Anybody can get a clam- it's another matter to keep them alive.
You can keep 'em on a half shell or the rockwork or on the bottom of a BB reef aquarium.
I'm sure I was not the only person wondering what your concern was about keeping a clam in a BB tank.

Dude, I'm as calm as a sleeper goby!

I have many years experience reef keeping but have never had a clam. I propagate corals and have bred fish etc. so I got the basics down. I was thinking that they needed sand (nutirent rich area of the tank, or to prevent them from breaking the glass etc.)

I have only ever seen them in tanks with sand. I have seen the rock borrers as well but dont know the difference between any of them.

Thank for the info. I am going to start looking for some Aquacultured specimins for my 120 GL.

I have a Deresa, Crocea, and a Maxima all on barebottom. The deresa was on his side for the first week and now he sits right up everyday. The Crocea and Maxima have a flat bottom and seem to not mind the bb at all. They just tend to turn towards the light and away from the front glass.
