Bare Bottom Ditritus Clean Up w/o WC?

Was wondering if I could use a high micron sock, and and as if I was vacuuming it into a wc bucket, vaccume it right back into the sump (Through the micron sock).

Would this work?

Im @ a point where ditritus in my BB tank is getting a little out of control in 1 corner, need to vacuum it every 2-3 days, so I would rather do that, than wc that often.

I siphon out the detritus, let it settle, and poor the water back into tank leaving the detritus in bottom of my pitcher.

Cool thanks guys!
I have an mp10 it just all gathers behind a large coral in a corner. I actually like it doing that because it is nowhere else lol.

I do that all the time... even with a sand bed. I siphon the top to clean the dead areas which goes through a filter sock. Most of the large stuff stays but finer crap goes through the filter. I let it settle for 15-20 minutes and pour back in the clear water. Top off and BAM!

What I did is take a maxijet 1200 and go around and under the rock. This will blow most of the stuff out. Then I placed a filter sock in the sump and start siphon it into it. I try to do this once a week.

Wow yea good idea, if I used like a 1inch tube, I could syphon the entire water column pretty quickly I would imagine.

I use an old canister filter to clean up the watger when i stir up alot of it. I bet you could just suck it right off the bottom with a canister filter and righbt back into the tank.

You could always siphon it right into your overflow....that way it goes to the filter sock without even removing any water from your tank.

I usually just siphon out debris or algae into a filter sock thats hanging on the side of a trash can then use a mag 3 to pump it back into the tank. But I've also learned the method mention above (siphoning into the sump) works just as well. Both work great.

I have tried the micron sock but the fine particles still get through it. so just vaccum and then let the bucket settle and only return half to 3/4 of the bucket water back into the tank

I said "about". They are no longer manufactured. Amazon has all of 3 of them in stock. But it is a great filter and ideal for IP's issue. Used for eons on the FW side of the hobby.
