bare bottom

So i plan on going bare bottom, and doing miracle mud in my fuge. My question is do you just put rocks on the glass in the bottom or is there something you put down before the rocks. In my 46 i just put rocks on the bottom, but it was tempered on the bottom so i figured it was strong, this one is not tempered though. i know alot of tanks are bare bottom and was wondering what you guys did?

My rocks were just on the bare glass bottom. I put a ball of epoxy underneath any sharp areas of the rock though.

lots of people like to put "star board" down, as its reef safe and white.
