BareBottom C.T.A.R.S tanks.. ?

Just wondering how many CTARS members are bare bottom and what corals do you keep? sps, lps, softies

My display tank is bare bottom and my refugium has a dsb

Barebottom for 3 months now. 5 yrs DSB. I am a huge fan so far. Keep mostly SPS, Clams, Fish. It was a big under taking but well worth it. I used black starboard which is almost covered by purple corraline algae now.

Run carbon and Phosphate

Mine is BB also. Mostly SPS with LPS, Rics, and Zoos.

i have my new 65 gallon tank bare bottom keeping lps and sofies and fish!!!! like it alot

72 bow BB with sps and lps. White starboard bottom. So much easier to clean.

Oh forgot my 24 G frogfish tank is also BB has red tree sponge and zoas...

Wow.. quite a few of you.. I tried BB before but missed the sand a whole bunch and never really gave things a chance to grow before adding sand. I think I am gonna try it again... I will wait until after the holidays then I will see how to remove it without dumping all that water.. Thanks again

LOL... you guys are too funny.. I don't want to start another BB vs DSB thread (not intentionally), but I've been considering the change due to the fact that I can't get decent flow without causing a sandstorm. It's driving me to drink. I have 2X maxi-jet 1200 mods and 2 x tunze 6100's on my 180 but can only use 1 of each. I have the other pumps collecting dust..

easy fix:
keep the sand and give me the extra tunze and mj

I have a camera and a BB tank - DSB's are cool too - this is just easier for me to maintain since this is in my classroom.
