Barnacle blenny info

Get a longnose hawk (or a pair = 2) - they don't eat fish (or only very tiny ones)

If I were to get a hawkfish thats the one I would get (longnose hawkfish), but when I had my YWG I was looking into getting one but a lot of places said they will harass gobies and (I think) blennies and possibly take a few bites out of them.

Longnose (or better longsnout) hawks are really not well equipped to take bites out of other fish.
I also can't see why they would have any beef with gobies.
With blennies I could imagine squabbles over perching locations, as both have the same preferences for elevated lookout positions.

I really don't want to take any risks. And I think I'm defiantly going to be getting a few barnacle blennies so it's probably not a good idea to get one anyway.

One question I still have is how many barnacle blennies are fine in a 10 gallon QT (without it crashing) without a sump for 1 1/2-2 months? The QT has a pretty good filter but no skimmer.

+1, not equipped to take a bite out, however is definitely a predator. Hawks perch on various areas looking for prey. Not saying at all that it will attack a goby, but they can eat smaller fish.

Use a Seachem Ammonia Alert to monitor ammonia. As long as you keep up with weekly water changes and don't overfeed, you could keep quite a few in there.

Ok I will defiantly get the ammonia alert badge. Would you say a weekly 3 gallon water change would be sufficient? Forgot to ask about feeding: how many times a day would someone feed barnacle blennies?

Thanks.
