Your tank is really nice. On my 14g nano I have led's as well, bu5 I just set up another 29g Nano and have PC but I will be replacing them for LED's.

Any Ideas

Any Ideas

Just saw this this morning. It growing under one of my mushrooms.
At first I just thought it was another shroom, but it's the wrong color.
Any Ideas???

The red thing?

Perhaps its a vermatid snail? Although it doesn't really look like it. Does it have a spider web like stringy stuff coming off it at times?

I would call it another mushroom. They'll split and bud and add trails of the self nearby in my experience. It means that you have a happy healthy tank!

Thanks ReefWreak. Last night when feeding I turn off my main pump and my power head as I always do.
Well forgot to turn on the main pump back on. Just turned it back on this morning. Hope I don't have any
problems............
Dumb Barry

so long as you had a power head running you should be fine. It is what many of us would do in a power outage powering just heaters and power heads as opposed to the entire system.

Well most. I have a huge geny for my tanks now so I can power everything for them plus my comfort items like my fridges, tv, internet, ect. LOL.

The brown oval thing above the red arrow, just below the red mushroom.

ROFLMAO

I just realized you put the red arrow on the picture. :bounce1:

A power outage for 4 days is what stopped me in this hobby some 20 years ago. I have a small generator that will run my fridge, freezer, water pump, TV, heater, and tank if it happens again.

Barry, I've done the same thing, but my powerheads were off too. This is one of the main reason I'm buying an apex. If I forget to turn them on, feed mode turns them back on for me.

Black sun corals?

Glad you found a coral you've been looking for! Now have fun keeping them fed :p

EDIT:

I think they're just dark and/or closed up FROGSPAWN! You have been looking for them for a while! Congrats either way!

I've been around and seen (almost) them all :p

I'm glad you found them! Just keep them well feed, and they'll grow like crazy.

I like that they're the branching type. Usually you just see them grow into the mound shape. I've never found a good way of feeding corals individually. I guess a pipette? very cool and sorry to ruin the surprise (if you were trying to surprise anyone in particular)

Acclimation update

Acclimation update

Well after acclimating my new Black Sun Coral for about two and half hrs.
Then dipping it in ReVive for 10 to 15 minutes, this was all I found. One Bristle worm I think. Check the photo below and let me know what you think it is.

Eiew the face of it! (that's a very good closeup shot of that, btw)

Yea, looks like a bristle worm. You probably have a million of them anyway, but I would toss out any hitchhikers anyway unless you know you specifically want/need them (i.e. pods).

Usually they're more pink/black/grey, he looks kind of orangey. Call me a racist, but I'd toss him.

Yeah bristle and most likely bleached a bit from the dip.

I would suggest switching off of revive though as it does not catch red/black bugs as I have recently experienced. I am making the switch to Bayer pesticide which apparently is the preferred dip these days since it gets those buggers....

Well it's a little late now, but I have Bayer pesticide ordered:hmm3:
Thanks for the input.

Black Sun Coral update

Black Sun Coral update

Hi All,
Here is the first glimpse of my new Black Sun Coral.
They are a little worse for wear from shipping. I took them out
of my tank in a small bucket and fed them or tried to feed them.
It took about a hour but the finely poked their heads out a bit and ate.
It's going to take some time before the look good. But they are alive.
Barry
