Bartlett's anthia eating badly

It still sounds to me like you're not listening to the people telling you it's probably internal parasites. The easiest thing, and safest thing to do is treat with Prazi, it's mostly reef safe other to some select worms and you can dose it straight into the display. I always treat with prazi when Qt'ing and have never heard of anyone losing a fish to prazi. It's really light. I would do that ASAP even if the fish are eating...

The fish shows no signs of desease other than it not eating for 4 days. I did notice a TINY red dot on its stomach so will figure out what to do if this gets worse.

When I whent to my LFS today my buddie told me that PraziPro is not stuff you want to play around with and so did the aquarium club president, I'll see how it looks when the lights turn on but hopefully I won't need to treat it with anything.

But don't get me wrong I agree it is most likely internal (if it has something), but this red dot is starting to make me think it could be exsternal as well, idk as with so many things this red dot could be a normal part of it's colouring I never saw before.

There are many many threads on how treating the DT with prazi is safe. Search it.

I've dosed Prazi into my reef tanks with no ill effects. The dose you get from following the directions is still on the mild side IMO.

So I treated with PraziPro today as the anthia still wouldn't eat, I did the normal does. Crossing my fingers this works!

Never dosed prazipro into the display, but when dosed into a hospital tank it does suppress the appetite of some fish. Your club president was probably right in so far as feeding a praziquantel tablet directly to the fish can lead to large internal doses, which will certainly nuke internal parasites but may well affect the fish negatively too.

Interesting, so it may take until the water change for the fish to start eating then. Thanks.

Today after about 30 hours the fish shows no signs of getting better, but it doesn't look worse. The PraziPro instructions say it can take up to a week, so I'm not getting worried just yet.

When I fed the tank today the anthia opened and closed it's mouth in quick succession like it wanted to eat but just couldn't. Does this mean anything?

Today I noticed this raised white spot on the anthia. What is it? and why is whatever it is forming well PraziPro is in the system?

Thanks
