Basement Sump ??

Decided on building a basement sump as my winter project . Currently have a 30g sump for my 90 gallon reef and will upgrade it to a 40 breeder or 55g.

First question is where do I put it, if it's directly below my tank I have no water source or drain or do I put it 15 feet away near a faucet and drain?

locate a basement sump directly under the aquarium if possible.

The pump on any aquarium runs 24/7. You want to make good use of the money youre spending on electricity to run that pump!

Run lines from sump to basement faucet/washbasin.
