BB and Tunze skimmer

I am really pleased with my Tunze pumps and would like to go with a pretty much all Tunze equipment on my new 75 gallon BB tank project but not sure that a Doc 9010 would be able to handle a BB tank with a pretty large bio-load. With BB tanks, many say that you need to have a large skimmer which can wet skim and handle the load and BB tank. Any thoughts on rather the 9010 would work?

I wouldn't see why there would be a difference between the skimming needs of a bare bottom tank vs one with substrate. I think the 9010 would do very well on a 75. What type of corals do you plan on keeping?

It will be overkill if you go heavy into softies and anemones and zoos as it can overstrip the water for these corals, it would be ideal for SPS though.

My wife uses a 9010 on her heave - heavy stocked 75. I mean like almost 30 sps - 9 clams - some softies - zoos - LPS, aprox 80 corals now. Its packet and her sps are awsome. Oh ya 6 fish also.

Yea, my plan was to use a 9010 but I think I would rather have a skimmer rated for a much larger tank as eitehr the 9020 or the 9420. This way it allows me room to upgrade or add another tank ( nano for example ) to the system. Than with the 9420, if needed, I can buy another pump and use it on the skimmer body and have a quick upgrade.
