My goodness - thanks Prugs for this creative idea. I have a magfloat in every tank but never thought about using them for this purpose except for cleaning algae on the glass. I have been using the suction clip which I hate, because after a while the suction cup stops working and the clip sinks to the bottom.
So glad you recommended the half clam choice. that is the only thing he would eat at the moment. As for the Moorish Idols, they only eat the Nori I got from the Korean store that is made for human consumption. This Nori looks a bit on the red side. The dried green seaweed that I bought from fish store made by Julian Sprung was rejected by the Moorish for some reason. There must be something in the Nori for human that they like.
Chicago- I saw a personifer angel in your galery. This is one of my favorite angel fish that I want to add to my angel collection. Is this kind of angel easy to keep? What kind of food does it eat?
i no longer have mine.. i have had two in the past five years... the last on i had did great for a while then died for no reasone... nice fish.. i will tell you make sure you get a male .. there is a big diff in the colors IMO... also you want a true adult JUV.. do not have the nice prurple in the front ...
they eat well once acclimated.. mine where good reef citizens..
i have also feed the red to my fish.. my asian store carries the red and the green .. not sure of the diff.... i notice that the red tends to get musshhhy faster...
its interesting that the idols only liked the red... how are their bellys .. plump? try to put some flake or other foods like brine in the nori wraps... that way as they eat the norie they get a taste for the other foods and hopefully will start to eat that also... i even once put a whole shrimp in the nori..... looked like true sushi to get some fish to eat...
