Trouble to bring phos down a little and nitrate is stubborn above 20ppm

I have algae hair grow a bit fast and heavy CUC now ( just bought some more snails)

I'm thinking about to start dosing vinegar - how much ml daily? 24 gal saltwater in my biocube 29.

Biocube 29 (Sw approx 24g)
Tunze 9002 skimmer
Change water every weekend -5 gal
BRS pellet GFO 3 tbsp ( start last week )
BRS Rox 2 tbsp

5 small fishes and mix reef

I feed my tank every other day ( I think I might feed a bit to much but will reducing it )

Cal 430
Alk
9.3
Mg 1380

Phos 0.07 by Hanna checker
Nitrate 25ppm by salfiert

I hope it will not harm my mix reef due to high nitrate

Any tips? Your recommend ?

Thanks

How much reading have you done on the subject? I would recommend doing a lot of research before starting organic carbon dosing as it's not without risks and the real metrics for whether or not its working appropriately or its overkill are the reactions of your corals, many of which are documented in the detailed protocols for carbon dosing (like this one for Vodka published in Reefkeeping Magazine).

I would recommend feeding your tank every day. Feed the amount that your fish can eat in <5 minutes is about the rule of thumb for a once a day feeding. Better yet, twice a day at <2 minutes would be even better. More, smaller meals tend to be better for fish. Feeding more frequently in smaller amounts also helps to reduce wasted food.

I'd also note that whether the food is eaten or not is a secondary issue. Digestion is very inefficient, and what goes in mostly comes back out.

This article covers vodka dosing:

To dose vinegar, just multiple the quantities by 8. :) I agree that dosing organic carbon has some risk, so I'd look into other approaches first. Looking at the feeding rate would be a good first step.

So every other day feed the tank is not good idea- suggested everyday but less food. Will do this way.

I read some posted in here that some people feed the tank every other day.

I read some info- they are all mix review, advice etc :)

Thanks

I am going to start reading I was looking at a aquaripure filter but this shounds interesting I am just getting back to the hobby but had a problem in the past with nitrates

I realized I made mistake how to read nitrate test kit :wavehand: I didn't read instruction carefully.

It's actually read at 2-5ppm :)

Mod please close

Thanks
