Beginner lenses for Canon XTi and Olympus E-510

I'm planning on getting a Canon Rebel XTi or the Olympus Evolt E510 pretty soon and...since this is my first DSLR...I really have no idea on what lenses to choose. I like to take many macro shots if that changes anything. Any advice on picking between the two cameras is welcome! Thanks!
