Bellus at All About Fish

I saw a Genicanthus Bellus at AAF yesterday! First time I've ever seen the bellus in person. It's a female, and beautiful!

I tried to ask Bob if he'd sell it, but he's holding onto it for now. If you guys are in the area, definitely check it out. It's in the tank behind the clam tank or across from the really big FO tank they have.

They recently also put in a ton of zoos and other poyp kind of corals in one of their huge tanks nearer the fresh water stuff. Tons of polyps, definitely worth checking out.

They just got a huge shipment in with a lot of fish =P

Anyways, try to persuade bob to sell the genicanthus... to me! ;)

corner of contra costa blvd. and second ave. in pleasant hill. For some reason I think it's more like Concord.

If you take 680 south from highway 4 and get off at concord blvd, take a right at the light which is contra costa blvd, then go a couple blocks you'll see a West Marine, it's in that same parking lot near the back next to the highway. Tell Bob I (Art) told ya ;)

Right next door to a huge adult bookstore

Males are much nicer IMO. I can't belive you've never seen one before, wow :D

do you see them often at LFS's? I like the females' blue / black and redish colors =)

you mean liveaquaria? they've been popping up almost every day for 2 weeks now on that site. it's awesome.

But still, I've never seen them at a LFS or in person until I went to AAF the other day.

As they come out of QT at LA they get placed on the market Art :D

Locally I've seen around 30 - 40 females in the last 2 1/2 years. Males less then 20.

Or change your route :D FWIW most tend to go as special order items since they're harder to get. Meaning, they're spoken for when they come in and sold rather quickly.

your lfs have to stay in line when the wholesaler first open up to get something like that.otherwise late comer get female only .:)

your workplace has a 3500g tank? Do they allow visitors?

There are actually two 3500g in the lobby and another 150g QT in another room. You can go in the lobby and see the tanks. On weekends you can see maint crew scuba diving.
