berghia nudibranches

well gary suggested someone more well known should order them to get more people interested in the group buy so i'm kinda waiting on that but they're ten bucks a piece and shipping depends on how many people actually participate and without paying for seperate shipping the only way it can happen is it if someone gets them all and you would have to pick them up there

well either way they won't be mature for a week so no worries but the latest tally is
2 for me
1 for thenewguy
3 for magdelan
3 for pcialf
bringing the total to 9

Did everybody who is getting these read the link that I posted? I would highly recomend reading it before you pick them up. These guys are very fra-gee-lay!!!

OK.... I'm in for two of these. 2nudis@ $10= $20 + shared shipping expenses.
I usually shy away from group orders. (Once bitten twice shy.)
This would appear to be an extremely good deal as long as the breeder ships the right stuff (ie: healthy medium- large Aiptasia eating nudis) and logistics of local distribution go smoothly.
So far the total is 11 Aiptasia eating nudis.

good news:
while fragging some coral (just minutes after my previous post above) I found a large adult Berghia (Aiptasia eating nudi) in my aquarium. (I placed a pair of them in my aquarium 3 weeks ago but I hadn't seen them since then.)
That means these things are "working" in my aquarium.

bad news: I don't need to take part in this group order anymore. Sorry. I wish this thread had been started a month or so ago. $10 per nudi is an unbelievable bargain!

Berghia Success Story

Berghia Success Story

In October I had a 120 gal reef with an aptasia explosion. I ordered 20 berghia on line and placed them in 4 small containers with constant temp and covered to avoid evaporation. Each container had 4-6 aptasia on small rocks. Over the week eggs were deposited and the Berghia lived mostly under the rocks. I then lowered the small (1 pint) containers into the tank and left them uncovered of course. I did not see the Berghia again until much later. In 2 months all of the aptasia were gone. At that time I spotted two on the glass at night. I think he was smiling even though they exhausted their own food supply. They seem to hide out under rocks and avoid predation. Also don't drop a Berghia on an Aptasia as they will be killed. They need to sneak up on the aptasia and attack the base. Good Luck. It takes time so be patient like everything in this hobby.

I still say that nothing works better or faster than a creme brulee torch. It's all a matter of whether or not you can get your rock out to burn them off.

I had a major explosion of aiptasia. I took out each rock, burnt off the pests, rinsed with RODI And back into the tank. I got 90% this way in just about an hour. I had a 90g tank. I tossed 5 peppermint shrimp in and they ate the rest. This was 2 years ago and I just saw my first aiptasia last week.

Does anyone know if these work on mojano's as well or just aptasia?

Just aptasia

ok just so everyone understands we all have to decide on a date that i'll get them overnighted and receive them and everyone will have to pick them up that day because obviously if i were to put them in my tank it would be impossible to get them out
