berghia nudi's

Sorry vince to hear your bergias didn't make it. I think my 4 is still alive. I just talked to Lisa and she says its pretty hard to see because they blend into the rocks and they are nocternal. Because of my large number of aptasia, I'm thinking of ordering 4 more to speed up the process. If you or anyone else wants in on this let me know. I plan to order on friday for monday ship and tuesday arrival.

Again if you want aptasia you need to do the following:

1. paypal me the amount. They are $15 each + 4% paypal fees. So $15.60 each. Multiply that by the amount you want.

2. shipping cost: free, I'll cover it.

3. come pick up in San Francisco Tuesday. You need to bring a small container. This time you can pick up at my place anytime after 6pm. This should be easier for everyone. I will NOT hold your nudi over night and won't be responsible for deaths. I also can't promise I'll be available wednesday so you must get it tuesday after 6pm and before 1am.

PM me if you want any for the paypal address. I'll take orders up until friday at noon. There are 25 available nudi's and the sooner I order the better. So as you place your orders I'll call Lisa to reserve the nudi's for you.

Andyman, thanks for the generous nudibranch offer.

I actually picked up a Cobberband over the weekend and he's been doing a fantastic job of eating aiptasia. I watched him vacuum out probably 20 or so over the past couple of days.

It's only the fourth day, but there's already been a visible reduction. Gonna let him do his thing and see how it goes.

I thought about doing the copper band thing too. The only bad thing about doing it that way is they're gonna run out of food fast and the very high possibility of transfering ich to other fishes. I take it that since you added the copperband so quickly to your tank, that you didn't quaranteen the fish (since qT is about atleast at a very very minimal 1 - 2 weeks.)

Hey Andy, I'm still thinking whether or not to get more. Anyway are you sure you want to buy more? Those 4 (assuming they are alive) should eventually get all the aiptasias. And it's possible, if you put them kinda near each other when you released them, that they might breed.

I'll let you know (via paypal!) if I'm up for another 2. If I do, I think I'll set up a 10 or 20g tank and release them there and put infested rocks into the tank. That way it's easier to see if the lil' bums are still alive and actually doing anything, and if they DO breed, they will have a better chance of survival. For me I think I'd prefer a berghia tank and if they breed, move the babies to the main tank, so you have a source of them if you need. I hear people who try to breed them also keep aiptasia farms!

Oh yeah, Salty Underground has is also selling younger berghias for $11.50 for a short time. Can you order a mix? I might be willing to pick up a few of the smaller/cheaper ones.

V

I can order a mix no problemo. But why care about a $3.50 price difference (especially if shipping is covered) ? Also I wonder if the mortality rate would be higher wit h the younger ones. In either case I'll order whatever mix you guys want, just add 4% for paypal fees.

I was thinking that the extra 3.50 savings would buy 5 smaller berghias versus 4 larger ones. (Or 4 smaller for the price of 3 bigger onces) As for mortality, considering my 4 adults just evaporated, it didn't seem to make much difference.

V

oh before you send me any money call Lisa at salty underground. I was quoted as 25 available adults. I have no clue what the availability is on the smaller ones.

I'm gonna pass this time, though it's a great deal for nudibranchs for anyone, since Andy is covering the shipping this time.
