You can also read up on the Tamron 90mm 2.8 macro. I think it will keep up with the equivelent Nikon lens for less. The lens cost 400 dollars new, and its been around enough that you can find a used one for 250 or so. I also checked ebay and saw a nikon d70 for about 225. I use the d70 and its great! The lens is more important than a camera.

what about the canon 30D i have seen those go for a decent price and you can learn alot on those to get ready for the 5d 7d and mark1 units
