I think the color you're trying to achieve would be an important variable on selecting the best bulb for your application, i.e. bluer or whiter.

I use the plusrite 20k 250 de mh for a year now on second batch and have no complaints. good color and growth. price was low.

I've tried almost all of them over the years and found I like Phoenix 14k's the best. They're affordable, nice crisp white/blue with higher long lasting PAR then most other similar 250's.

Radiums.
But you need to run them on an HQI ballast.

If you want other choices down the road, it's probably not the way to go, but I love the color and growth. Crazy bright.

I think that would be for single ended bulbs, he's looking for double ended (Radiums are actually what I run and really like for all my 400w single ended bulbs with GALAXY Select-A-Watt HQI Ballasts)

The Phoenix 14k's have very similar color as the Radiums which is why I use/like them.

Yep, you're right - I missed that. I've got single ended radiums.
