I have a friend thats thinking about getting a yellow eye kole tang an he is doing a little research before an wants to know what the best brand of nori if there is such thing as a "best". An if anyone has a yellow eye kole tang which color nori is best...green,purple, red?

I feed a mix to my tangs. Green is the staple and I mix in red nori and red seaweed. I have a powder blue and yellow and they don't discriminate. The TLF holder/clip is awesome. I precut the sheets into small squares and give them 2-4 helpings a day. I prefer smaller portions because they'll eventually work it loose and I don't want a huge piece of nori floating around. My portions are about 2"x2".

Forget the nori go to the Chinese supermarket and purchase dried seaweed it'll come as a mix of colors with green purple brown and the darker the color the more vitamin content in it purples and brown are the best....$3 to $8 for a very lg package that will last you months...healthier and cheaper than the nori....just get dried not roasted, and just a tip a little will go a long way when feeding it will expand

Very good advice, I would only add that you want to be sure that you get unflavored dried nori.

I agree with the dried seaweed except that it is very hard to find real good quality organic seaweed in the oriental markets, the cheap stuff they sell is better than nori but still not good enough for tanks that you want to control the input of nutrients, like everything you get what you pay for.
IMO is better to not give them neither, let them do what they do best in nature, scrape the algae off the rock, it is much easier to eat the seaweed once they get use to it than having to scrape it of the rocks.
Instead complement your food with a spirulina base food or add spiraling to your own food, you can get it at any vitaminshop.
