what is the best camera to get to take good photos of my tank? i am looking in $200 - $250 range.

It needs to have image stabilization. And i would like it to have taking pictures of moving objects where there is not a blur. I like kodak and panasonic lines.

Thank you.

gee thanks... i guess i will ask some other people on this subject that would be willing to help me out unlike some people in the photography forum...

thanks for your time.

Whoa - back off the attitude; they were helping.

What you're asking for, in the price range that you're asking, doesn't exist. That's not their fault. You need to change your budget or alter your requirements if you want better recommendations.

If the parameters are best camera for under $250, maybe we can offer some suggestions, but it won't necessarily be the best camera for taking pictures of your aquarium. I think with a decent knowledge of photography and cameras you could get decent tank photos with a Fuji S700, Canon A630, or Canon A720. Those I believe all come in under $250. Just do some research and see what you want out of a camera and are willing to pay for.

FWIW, the above answers weren't all that sarcastic given the criteria you supplied.

I agree with the other guys 100%. I'm a college guy that is pretty broke, and I went into ritz to get a camera, and I asked the same thing you asked for $300 or less, and they laughed at me!!!
I use my gfs canon powershot SD900 once in a while and it has macro lense which I can take pretty good photos of small things up close. I can even go up like 2" away from the item. I think the camera is like $400, just guessing.

I told him to go for the 1000D, it was specifically made for these people! It does however sadden me to think we have a DSLR running off of SD cards as opposed to the rightful CF. SD cards are for point and shooters.

Now that I have had time to soak it in, I still don't see the point of the 1000D. They took an Xti and gave it live view (a feature which defeats the purpose of SLR's) but downgraded auto focus (a feature which shines under the glory of SLR's). I just don't know what they were thinking. Live view is good for macro on a tripod...and when there is a large crowd and you HAVE to hold the camera way above your head to get the shot. Thats it. In every other situation (encompassing 99% of photography from your basic entry level consumer who would buy this product), you are trading gold for straw. It is supposed to be the other way around. :: disgust ::

Umm - I know some professional shooters with IDsMIIs and IIIs that would disagree with your assessment.
