Which Clown species are best for Carpets ?

My wife and I have three beautiful neon green, Carpets. I may start a different thread on this subject, but we've heard from a few owners that they'll never have Carpets again, after their's ate their Clown fish. One owner said his Carpet ate the fish after 1.5 years of the rlatinship !

Should we buy large,......Clowns for Carpets so it's not so easy to chow down on ?

Assuming you have haddoni's, they are a natural host for sebae clowns. The size of the clown shouldn't matter. It would be extremely unlikely for the haddoni's to eat a clown that they are a natural host for.

i have 2 of the same species of carpet one purple one blue and every single anemone i put in my tanks they host but also depends on many other factors. but i have gold bar maroons to snowflakes and blizzards and they alll host. just take ur time feed the carpet silver sides and ull be ok . the clowns will eventually feed it flakes and pillets and ect. over time

Years ago I had a large green carpet that devoured over 10 fish, 1 of which was the male of a pair of black saddle clowns that it hosted for over 2 years.
