Best Diy Dentrinator?

I just did a search for DIY dentinators. There were 46 threads. It looks like these have been around for 3 or 4 years now.

Is there a specific build that has risen to to the top to be the method of choice?

I will if I have to, but I figured this may be easier than reading 46 threads, and now that 3 or 4 years have gone by there has been enough time to sourt out the facts form the theory and bull.

From what I have read, the sulfur denitrator is probably the easiest. For any appreciable sized system, a coil denitrator would get somewhat cost prohibitive as you would need a ton of 1/4" tubing and a monster pump to push water through it.

Hopefully Erik will add to this thread.... I believe there are plans in the works for a summer DIY project making a sulfur denitrifier. Last I heard he was working on gathering up material.

The sulfur denitrator seems to be the best to me from my limited reading.

This one looks pretty straight forward too.
Yup that is the one everybody seems to be following including me. I believe that is the one we are basing our summer project around.

Sounds like it would be perfect. I can't imagine the parts are all that much too. If I recall, they were talking about perhaps a Saturday workshop / BBQ

Tom, why can't you live somewhere centrally located like Brunswick or N. Olmsted :(

Google says my house to Mentor, OH is: 81.4 mi â€"œ about 1 hour 33 mins. Bleh... 163 miles in the summer will be something like $32 in gas if things go the way they are predicting.

LOL ... this hobby will be getting a lot more expensive.

BTW the best maintenance-free nitrate reducer I know of is called a deep sand bed.

Hey Guys

I Can Host I am probably alittle more centrally located in Olmsted Twp and I SHOULD have all the tools we would need to build these. Plus with a big deck for grilling, pool, bar??? What else could we need lol

The Pavilion his club uses in lorain that has power outlets, bunch of grills and a keg a rator :)

Much more room to setup and its covered in case of rain.

We just need to pick a date and set this in stone.

I was bored and feeling creative so I decided to take a stab at the design per the link that Paul posted. All in all, it was very easy, taking about 30min and pretty cheap. Therefore, I decided to make a second simple media reactor for carbon, etc.
